MYED PARENT PORTAL

In 2022, RJDS began using the BC Ministry of Education & Child Care’s information system called My Education BC MyEdBC). Since then, we have been slowly integrating their programs into our systems.We are now using their program for Learning Updates (previously called Report Cards).

We are excited to announce that we have opened the secure online Family Portal. With this portal, parents can log in to their unique accounts and view important information such as their child/ren’s Learning Updates, attendance records, and demographics which includes vital emergency contact information. This green initiative will help reduce the amount of paper that we use as we practice the Jewish concept of תִּיקּוּן עוֹלָם Tikkun Olam – repairing the world.

Each parent has now received an email from My Education BC with information on how to set up their portal account. We urge you to do this at your earliest convenience. Keep an eye on your junk/spam folders if you do not see the email invitation. If you already have access to the MyEdBC portal because of another child, you will not receive an invitation, but will now be able to see your RJDS child’s information too. Some tips:

• To protect students’ information, passwords are good for 90 days only. After this time, MyEdBC will
  prompt you to change it, so please save your current password in a secure location as you will
  need it when prompted.
• Pop ups should be enabled on this platform to allow all functions to work properly – including
  being able to view Learning Updates.
• It is recommended that you use a laptop or desktop computer to initialize your account with the
  following web browsers: Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera, MS Edge.
• Once you have successfully logged in, you may link your account to your BC Services Card in
  place of userID and password – this will avoid having to change your password every 90 days.
• Once your account is activated, you will be able to use a smartphone/tablet to access all info in
  the system.
