I hope you are having a festive Sukkot and taking advantage of the beautiful weather we have been having. We have already enjoyed several wonderful programs at the school, with more coming up that I’d like to highlight.
Firstly, thank you to the parents who helped in building our school’s sukkah last weekend. Our students have enjoyed this throughout the week and have had the opportunity to enjoy warm soup (made by our counsellor, Malki) in the sukkah prepared by our school counsellor and teachers. A special thank you to Rabbi Baitelman for coming to the school this week with Chabad of Richmond’s Mobile Sukkah to give parents the opportunity to make the blessing over the Lulav and Etrog.
This year during our Project Isaiah food drive, students brought in overflowing bags of non-perishable goods to the school. We collected so many items to contribute to this important cause! This annual community food drive is vital in filling up the Jewish Family Services food bank with healthy pantry items to support those in need. It is wonderful to see our RJDS students take such an active part in community service.
This morning, our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) hosted a Welcome Back Student Breakfast for students. The children were extremely excited about this special event and couldn’t seem to get enough of those delicious waffles! A special thanks to all the parent volunteers and RJDS Student Life Coordinator, Reesa, who helped in making this event happen.
Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach,
